Message from our Chair,
Gary Shea

At our picnic in August we heard from a group of smart, young, dynamic candidates for office in the 2026 elections. Not only will they resist the craziness in Washington and Lansing, but they’ll help to define what this country needs to focus on: health care, children, integrity and an economy that works for all of us. I’m excited to help them get elected.

At the September 18 meeting in Royal Oak Township we will talk about some of the petitions we’re already seeing circulating, as well as some that may be circulating soon. Some are scary, some are wonderful, some need some discussion.

Club members will be golfing with the Oakland County Democratic Party and attending a People’s Town Hall on September 5, recruiting and talking about petitions at the Royal Oak Township Library Grand Opening on September 6 from 1 to 5 pm, attending Nina’s fundraiser for Voters Not Politicians on September 7 and marching with the Berkley Democracy Defenders on September 13 from 1 to 3 pm from the gazebo to Woodward Ave.

See the Events page for details on these events.

DSOC merch. Hoodies, sweatshirts, T-shirts, totes and hats are available in our online Store. Since we do not require payment of dues to join our club, the sale of our merchandise is one of our primary fundraising tools. Wearing DSOC merch not only shows you are a proud Democrat; it also promotes our club. These items also make great gifts!
