Happy New Year, Democrats of South Oakland County!

It’s New Year’s Day, and I’m watching great athletes play in a big game on TV. This is why great athletes love to play these games—to be tested in the biggest games against the strongest competition.

Let’s look at 2026 the same way. Our competition has a trilion dollars to spend. But we have great candidates, lots of energy, history on our side, and us—and 10 million more just like us. Let’s compete in 2026 with the joy of knowing that we will win if we play our best. And we don’t get a trophy, but a Congress and a state legislature that will reflect the best America can be.

Our January meeting will feature:

• Don Ufford (running in the primary for Haley’s seat in Congress)

• Amanda Treppa (running in the primary for Mallory’s State Senate seat)

• David Lauer (the only candidate currently running for Natalie’s State House seat)

The January meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Sheetmetal Workers Local 80 at 17100 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Southfield.

In the meantime, be sure to re-up your DSOC membership, Michigan Dem Party membership, Oakland County Dem membership, and CD-11 membership.
