Happy summer and Happy Pride, Democrats!
First of all: There will be NO regular meeting this month. But it will be a busy summer for the Dems of SOC.
The Dems of SOC will be participating in Juneteenth celebrations (June 19th) in Oak Park and Huntington Woods, and these events conflict with our regular meeting day. We will have a table at the Oak Park event, where we will promote the club, assist with voter registration and absentee ballot applications, promote our July Art Show, and pass our postcards for our End Cash Bail effort. Please attend one or both of these events and stop by our table.
We will also be volunteering at Forgotten Harvest on June 14 (9 am to noon.)
Many of us will be joining NO KINGS protests on June 14 in the afternoon—some Dems of SOC will meet at I-696 and Coolidge at 1 pm. Others will likely join other NO KINGS events in Ferndale and elsewhere. Bring a sign!
We will also have a table at the Berkley Pride event on Sunday, June 22 from 1- 5 pm. C’mon by and say hello!
In July, we’ll meet in Royal Oak Township with local candidates for 2025 elections.
And don’t forget the Resistance Works Art Show we’re sponsoring. There will be a July 13 opening from 3 to 5 pm with a $10 admission fee as a fundraiser for the club. The show is at Articipate gallery on 12 Mile in Berkley with wine, cheese, and some powerful Resistance-themed art to view and to purchase.
The annual picnic will be on August 21 at Bacon Park in Berkley (Webster and Bacon) with lots of local electeds and candidates for both 2025 and 2026.

DSOC merch. Hoodies, sweatshirts, T-shirts, totes and hats are available in our online Store. Since we do not require payment of dues to join our club, the sale of our merchandise is one of our primary fundraising tools. Wearing DSOC merch not only shows you are a proud Democrat; it also promotes our club. These items also make great gifts!

2025 Club Meeting Schedule
